BREAK TIME SAFETY

Reason: You might take a few breaks during your workday, but the hazards don’t take any time off. That is why, it is important to keep safety in mind even during your rest periods.

SOME REMINDERS HOW TO SPEND YOUR BREAKS SAFELY

1. Don’t forget to SWITCH OFF your equipments before leaving your workstation.
2. Use your break for health enhancing activities. Include nutritious foods, relax and get a little exercise. Your overall health will benefit, which in turn can make you fit to work more safely.
3. Walk in the pedestrian areas as you leave your work area.
4. Look around; watch out for movements of construction equipments and other vehicles.
5. Watch your steps, look for slipping, tripping hazards and ankle braking stones.
6. Avoid smoking in the enclosed areas or near flammable materials as it is, essential to prevent work site fires and explosions and it is important to protect yourself and co workers.

7. If you are leaving work site via vehicle, stay alert to prevent collision with out going vehicles.
8. If you are driving, don’t forget to wear seat belt.
9. When you return to your workstation, check for new hazards, may be some one made adjustment or alteration to your machine and check whether guards are in place?
