Energy and Resources Conservation Tips – Tool box Talks
CONSERVING WATER
Personnel primarily involved with the use of water should consider ways in order conserve and minimize water.
- Don’t let the tap running while washing your hands.
- Report leaks in the pipe/hose connections as soon as possible.
- Taps should be tightly closed at all times.

- Reuse of treated water in areas where low water quality is acceptable (e.g., floor area wash downs or ground dust suppression).
- Use of high-pressure hose over use of low-pressure hose.
CONSERVING ELECTRICITY
All personnel are expected to contribute in ways to minimize unnecessary consumption of electricity.
- Turn off lights when not in use. Use natural lighting if possible.
- Use power saver mode on computer monitors.
- Turn off machineries and other electrical appliances when not in use. (i.e. welding machines, blowers, fans, computers, air conditioning units etc.)
- Regularly clean the surfaces of tube light and mercury lamps to achieve maximum illumination
- If possible always consider low power consuming apparatus/equipment when purchasing
- Use alternative or renewable power source like solar cells.
CONSERVING Consumable Items
All personnel are expected to contribute to save company expenditures by:
- Printing necessary documents in fast print mode to save on toner and inks.

- Taking good care of provided PPE.
- Use work equipment in appropriately to avoid damage
- Planning yard material movements or personal associated trips so as to save on fuel.
