Since 2009, World Pneumonia Day is being observed by several organizations like World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Save the Children etc, throughout the world to create awareness among people regarding the disease and its treatment.

Pneumonia can affect people of all ages as it infect the respiratory organ and the severity may changes from one individual to another. Although there are vaccines for pneumonia, by following hygienic practices like washing hands often and sanitizing the surface spreading of this disease can be avoided.

Being in pandemic situation like COVID-19, the severity of pneumonia can get aggressive as these are respiratory diseases which affects the lungs can even cause death for weaker persons.
